A quarterly digest of some of the great things going on in the Pikes Peak Region, a great place to live, work and play. This is news worth sharing, so pass it on!
Area Agency on Aging provides programs & services for growing retiree population Our region is a desirable retirement location for Baby Boomers and military retirees with a growing demand for senior services. The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging (PPACG AAA) provides programs and services for older adults and their caregivers.

During the open enrollment period for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans (Nov.15 - Dec.31), the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) assisted more than 1,200 seniors in Park, Teller, and El Paso counties who needed help in choosing their plan.

The AAA developed a state-mandated Four Year Plan (a strategic plan for the agency) that:

  1. Serves as a guide for creating a comprehensive, coordinated delivery system of supportive services to persons aged 60 and older
  2. Is based on the expressed needs and priorities of our area’s older population (nearly 96,000 people in the region are eligible for Older American Act services)
  3. Addresses the challenges of meeting those needs as the demand for new services grows exponentially

AAA’s primary goal is to improve the quality of life for area seniors while simultaneously saving taxpayer money.
