Colorado Springs ranks 13th on the 2003 Forbes Best Places for Business and Careers list. The rankings are based on income and growth, cost of doing business, available labor, crime rates, housing costs and net migration. 150 metropolitan large metropolitan areas were ranked. www.forbes.com

The median home price in Colorado Springs is up only 3.60% in Q1 2003 ($177,700.00) compared to Q1 2002 ($171,600.00), according to the National Association of Realtors. Home prices nationwide spiked 7% in the first quarter, with the median sales price for existing family homes hitting $161,500. Thirty-one of 117 markets had double-digit increases. money.cnn.com
