Fountain Council's recent fee cuts sure to please builders and buyers In January the Fountain City Council cut fees, including water taps, for homebuilders in order to encourage growth.

A homestead and farm along Fountain Creek in Fountain, declared a state historic site, will become part of the city’s parks, trails and open space system.

Fountain continues to work on “Smart Grid” installation for its electric customers to plug into automated systems that help control electricity costs. Grant funding will be used to install advanced metering infrastructure, a meter data management system, and smart electric meters to better manage efficient energy usage.

Fountain has a rich history and a preservation association created a series of signs to be placed in the city’s historic downtown section for a walking tour. The city was founded in 1859 and has the first plat recorded in El Paso County.
