Recent Natural Gas Usage Sets Record – Utilities takes steps to ensure gas supplies
During the recent cold snap, total natural gas consumption for a 24-hour period from Feb. 1 through Feb. 2 was more than twice the amount used on an average winter day, breaking the old record of 235,143 MCF set on Dec. 8, 2009.

Curtailing natural gas supply to approximately 20 large natural gas customers with a backup fuel supply. These customers pay a slightly lower rate throughout the year and agree to have their service curtailed in periods of high demand or low supply.
